I have recently been to a three day trianing course with Gillian Higgins from Horses Inside Out in Derby. We covered a different topic each day, starting with gait analysis, then soft tissue and finishing up with skeletal assessment and treatments.

Day one focused on assessing the horses' movement and how it effects performance. We learned to spot weakness, inconsistencies and abnormalities and then interrupting the results for treatment methods.

Day two looked at soft tissue, a thorough recap on anatomy (which was really needed!), palpation tecniques and myofascial release.

The last day was musculoskeletal testing and joint mobilisations. This looked at testing range of movement and how it effects the rest of the biomechanics of the body.

The whole three days gave me so many new techniques and a refresher on the importance of knowing your anatomy.
